Mortgage rates are a never ending topic of discussion sticking between 6.5%-7.25% for now and likely not moving this spring. Some volatility is expected with present economic changes.
Homebuyer demand is experiencing a notable surge, particularly driven by the younger segment of the millennial generation. This cohort equaling 72-73MM people is entering the housing market in increasing numbers, reflecting a significant demographic shift in real estate dynamics. The millennial generation is currently the largest living adult generation in the United States. Younger millennials have seen their share of first-time homebuyers rise from 70% to 75% over the past year. This trend underscores their growing influence in the housing market. (see chart)
It's still a sellers market in most of MA, due to this high demand and not enough supply. Which is also why home prices aren't predicted to go down, in fact "experts project steady appreciation of 3–4% per year over the next 5 years."
